Speak Through Sports is a fully funded program offered through The Parker Foundation; activities may be planned and facilitated by the foundation itself or as a joined effort with other organizations or individuals.

We feel that all children should have the opportunity to be a part of a team and experience any sports or activity that they have interest in. It is our goal with Speak Through Sports to build self-confidence, improve fine and gross motor skills, and for the children to learn the basic rules and skills of a variety of sports.  These sports also create a great opportunity for social and communication growth, and team work.

Our model is focused on a whole family approach, where all children in the family are encouraged to participate in the sport or activity if they like.  This builds community and friendships between all children involved and siblings.

Our "Be a Buddy" program utilizes volunteer "Buddies" - junior high and high school aged children and adults who are interested in being role models for younger children and children with special needs, for personal enrichment as well as fulfilling volunteer hours for school or project requirements.

With the help of organizations in our area, we have experienced first hand the positive outcomes that integration into these types of programs can have on children and their families.  Watching the children grow in with these programs in just a short period of time is inspiring and encouraging to all that are involved!
